Introduction
For centuries, wolves have been revered and worshipped throughout the world and have a significant place in many creation myths. Wolves were revered as divine messengers, divine beings, descendants of gods and even gods!
They were (and still are) many people’s ancestors! notably in Japan, Egypt, North America, Chechnya, Mongolia, Turkey, Iberia, Scythia and Mesopotamia, as well as in Celtic mythology (ancient and medieval), Germanic and Hittite mythology
The wolves Geri and Freki accompany the god Odin in Norse mythology. Without Skalli and Hati, day and night would not exist and they also bring about the seasonal cycles as they chase the sun and moon around the heavens and regulate their movements
In Chinese mythology, Tiangou’s role is similar to that of Skalli, who chases the sun and walks over the sky (or heavens)
A she-wolf rescued the founding fathers of Rome. The wolf symbolized Roman power throughout the Roman era and was revered not only in Rome but also in other parts of ancient Italy
In Greek mythology, the god Apollo was born from a wolf. Deities took the form of wolves and wolves came to the rescue of humans and gods, guiding and protecting them!
Wolves as a pack not only survive, but they thrive, protect their territory, hunt for prey and above all, remain loyal to one another. A wolf pack thrives because each wolf understands his responsibility for the success of the whole pack; it is never about the individual but the survival of the pack comes first
Wolves never quit! Wolves are extremely successful, relentless hunters and of course, notoriously patient. They are definitely not successful 100% of the time; in failures, they won’t panic rather, they will regroup and hunt relentlessly until they succeed
Wolves are incredibly curious about their surroundings, continuously smelling and eager to explore any prospective chances. They take nothing for granted. As wolves hunt to survive, they adopt a sense of urgency when they are hunting
Wolves, through teamwork, take-down any larger prey! demonstrating that “a team united is a team with great strength and success”
